To further improve the performance of your acoustics panels, you should utilise airgaps. Air gaps affectively target low-frequency absorption and can be as effective as using an acoustic panel of the same thickness. Therefore, improving acoustics while reducing project cost.

Take our Alpha Polyester Acoustic wall panels as a perfect example. When fixed to the wall/ceiling with a 50mm air gap, the noise reduction coefficient boosts from 0.45 to 0.80! Meaning you require less acoustic panels to reach that optimal reverberation time. A cost-effective way to achieve an air gap of 50mm is to use aluminium standoffs or timber frames.
